Public Consultations

The Council is always open for the community to participate in its decision-making processes. Masterton District residents are informed of when proposed plans and policies are available for public submissions via our Facebook page, public notices and newspaper advertising.

This page contains the consultations that are currently being undertaken by the Masterton District Council. Each consultation sets out the purpose, key issues and the timescale.

If you would like to make a submission regarding any of the consultations listed here, please refer to the feedback details provided for each consultation.

Community Meeting

We invite all Masterton residents and ratepayers to attend a community meeting on Thursday 22 February 2018 from 6:30pm at the Masterton Club, 98 Chapel Street.

This is one last opportunity for any person or organisation to share their views on the draft Dog Policy and Control of Dogs Bylaw with Councillors, before a final decision is made. You do not need to have provided written feedback to speak at this meeting. If you are planning on attending we would appreciate it if you could RSVP to [email protected] so we can plan for seating and catering.

We sought feedback from the community in September and October 2017 about dog control services in the Masterton district. We received 546 responses to this survey which we used to help us develop the draft Dog Policy. A summary of the feedback received can be viewed here.
