At Masterton District Council we are here for our local community. Our purpose is to meet the community’s current and future needs for good-quality infrastructure and local public services in a cost-effective way.
It means we have teams that work across all the areas of the services we provide, for example, infrastructure such as roading and the “three waters” – freshwater, wastewater and stormwater. We also have a team that looks after all the council-owned parks and recreation spaces such as Henley Lake and Queen Elizabeth Park. Our Environmental Services team are there to help the community and local businesses meet requirements under Council bylaws, and our Planning and Building team are there to help with consents and zoning. Our Library and Archive team deliver an important service for our community and our front-of-house team can always be found at our Queen Street service centre to answer your questions. We also have people that work ‘behind the scenes’, for example managing large projects, ensuring our IT is working well, and supporting our Mayor and Councillors as they serve you, our community.
With all the above going on MDC is a busy place – it takes passionate people who take pride in their work to keep things running smoothly. In short, we love Masterton and want to do good work to ensure our community thrives.
If you think you’ve got the pride and passion needed to help our community continue to thrive and want to be part of a team that work hard but also have fun, we’d love to hear from you. Check out our Current Vacancies page for any roles we might have that suit your skills and experience.
