Do you have an interest and knowledge in at least one arts sector? Are you interested in helping to allocate funds to these projects?
Every year an Assessment Committee, consisting of eight members, meets four times a year to consider applications for the allocation of funding from the Masterton District Creative Communities Scheme of around $22,000 and the Masterton Arts Fund of $12,000.
Assessment criteria for the Creative Communities Scheme include projects that will create opportunities for local communities to engage with and participate in local arts activities, support the diverse arts and cultural traditions and encourage young people to actively participate in the arts. The Masterton Arts Fund is intended to make a difference to the quality and participation in the arts sector and/or economy as well as supporting community celebration or commemoration of Masterton history and heritage.
We are looking for people who can analyse applications, allocate the funds to best meet the criteria and be committed to attending the four meetings per year.
We are looking for two new assessors due to recent resignations from the committee.
Nominations close at 4.30pm on Friday, 1st February 2019 and the first committee meeting will be in March.
