Covid will be keeping us at home this Halloween due to restrictions around gatherings and the number of people that can attend our annual party. Halloween Island and HalloWhere won’t be going ahead but we want to make sure you still have a chance to be part of a fun spooky event at home with some great prizes. This is one that the whole family can get involved with so show us your most creative ideas.
Jack-o-lantern and Scarecrow Competition
Prizes: First, Second and Third prizes for both categories will be Visa Prezzy Cards for $100, $75 and $50. Plus a grand prize of a $500 Prezzy Card for the overall winner.
How to Enter:
- Create your coolest jack-o-lantern or scarecrow (or both!).
- Send us one picture of your entry. You can send it to Masterton District Council on Facebook messenger or by emailing [email protected] Include your entry name, supporting story and contact details.
- Entries close 31 October at midnight.
Once entries close, your photos will be uploaded to our public Facebook page. The public will then be allowed to vote for their favourites from 1 – 7 November.
One ‘reaction’ will be considered one vote for that entry, that includes likes, love, wow etc, this does not include comments or shares. The reaction must be on the original photo on the Masterton District Council Facebook page. The entries with the most reactions will win the prizes. The $500 Grand Prize will be voted on by your elected Councillors.
Terms and Conditions
1- The promoter is Masterton District Council whose registered office is at 27 Lincoln Road, Masterton.
2- The competition is open to residents of Masterton.
3- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
4- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
5- Only one entry will be accepted per person per category. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
6- Closing date for entry will be 31st October. After this date the no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
7- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
8- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
9- The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
10- The prize is as follows: $100, $75 and $50 prezzy cards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in each category and a $500 prezzy card for the overall winner.
The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered.The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
11- Winners will be chosen by the public on our Facebook page. The grand prize of $500 will be voted on by councillors.
12- The winner will be notified by email within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
13- The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected.
14- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
15- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
16- The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry.
