ABOUT THE WAIPOUA BRIDGE

A new walking and cycle bridge across the Waipoua River will provide easy access to Oxford Street Reserve from the trail on the south side of the river.

Masterton District Council approved construction of the bridge, at the end of Railway Crescent, in August 2020.

An average of 1,500 visitors a month use the Akura Road trail on the south side of the river. The new bridge will be a great addition to the existing trail network around Masterton. The new bridge will enable walkers and bikers to cross the river and enjoy the Oxford Street Reserve.
