Dog De-Sexing Funding
Terms and Conditions
- Dogs must live in the Masterton District and be registered with Masterton District Council or working towards paying off your dog registration.
- You must use the Masterton clinic of South Wairarapa Veterinary Clinic for the de-sexing surgery.
- Female dogs in heat can be de-sexed 12 weeks after the last day of their heat.
- Once you have submitted your application form, we will notify you within 10 working days if your application is successful.
- If your application is successful, you must book an appointment with South Wairarapa Veterinary clinic within 20 business days from the date of receiving a notice of confirmation of a successful application from us.
- You must pay a non-refundable deposit of $100 to the vet clinic on the date you book the surgery.
- Masterton District Council via funding through Trust House will pay the vet clinic the balance of the sum (over and above the deposit you have paid) for the cost of the de-sexing surgery.
- You are responsible to the vet clinic for any additional costs that may be incurred over and above the cost of the actual straight forward de-sexing operation: this includes any complications during the operation, post-operative complications or care required or any other costs.
- If you are unable to keep the appointment you make with the vet client, you will forfeit your deposit, unless you have provided the Vet Clinic with 24 hours’ notice prior to cancelling.
- Funding is limited for this campaign and not all applications will be successful.
- Whether or not your application is successful, it is at the sole discretion of Masterton District Council), and we are not required to provide a reason if your application is unsuccessful.
