Council’s draft Annual Plan for 2016/17 is out now!
The 2016/17 Annual Plan is Year 2 of the Long Term Plan (LTP) that Council adopted last year. The Consultation Document that outlines key differences between what we said we were going to do in Year 2 of the LTP, and the proposed work programme for the coming year, is available here. Hard copies are also available from the Masterton District Council office and Masterton Public Library. Alternatively, call us on (06) 370 6300 and we can post you a copy.

Food Act (2014) Fees and Charges
The Food Act 2014 came into effect on 1 March 2016. The Act requires food premises to operate under a Food Control Plan (FCP) or National Programme and enables Council’s to fix fees to recover the direct and indirect costs of Council’s functions under the Act.
Masterton District Council has adopted a Statement of Proposal for public consultation on the Food Act (2014) fees and charges.

Masterton District Council is proposing an amendment to Clause 4.1 in Part 6 of the Masterton and South Wairarapa District Council’s Consolidated Bylaw 2012, being to extend the annual ban on outdoor fires (fires in the open air) in the Masterton urban area by one month, from 31st July to 31st August each year. A copy of the Statement of Proposal and Determination Report is available here or in hard copy from the Masterton District Council Office.
Submissions on the proposed bylaw amendment close at 5pm on Monday 9th May 2016.
Applications for Events Funding are Invited Now
Each year Council allocates funding to generate and support a range of events in the Masterton District. Applications for this year’s events fund are open now. A copy of the Events Funding Policy is available here and application form is available here
Applications close at 5pm on Monday 9th May 2016 and will be considered alongside submissions to the Annual Plan.
