Masterton’s skatepark is loved by all – teens, parents and grandparents who enjoy watching over young ones. But it was in dire need of an upgrade. The upgrade project received strong support from our community and in July 2020 the Government announced it was contributing $1.3 million to make the community’s vision become a reality.
Final designs are now complete and following consultation with the community colours and patterns for the surface have been finalised.
The tender has been awarded to Hunter Civil who have begun work on site. The bowl end of the park is now closed as the work will be done in two parts, meaning that there will always be a part of the park to skate, scoot and blade on. We ask that people do not attempt to enter the site for their own safety.
