Ongoing dry weather after weekend rain has forced Masterton District Council to reinstate a total garden watering ban.
The rain raised the level of the Waingawa River to allow restrictions to be eased, but flows have now again fallen below 1,100 litres per second, the trigger for a total watering ban.
The council appreciates the water conservation efforts of residents and is hoping rain forecast in coming days allows restrictions to be eased once again.
It’s important people keep an eye on the council website, social media pages, and the billboard on SH2, so they know what restrictions are.
Information on water restrictions and conservation tips is available on our water page.
