Toxic algae blooms in Ruamāhanga and Waipoua Rivers

Red alert warnings are in place for the Waipoua River and the Ruamāhanga River from Double Bridges to Kokotau, including Te Ore Ore and The Cliffs. People are advised not to swim or let dogs near the water. Even a small amount of algae can kill a dog.

Land Information Memorandum (LIM)

Whakaaetanga Pārongo Whenua

A Land Information Memorandum (LIM) is a comprehensive report on a property. You can request an urgent LIM which will be processed within 5 working days, or a standard LIM which will be processed within 10 working days.

Day 1 is the first working day after the application has been received (and payment has been received).

Please Note: working days do not include Saturday and Sunday, Wellington Anniversary Day, Waitangi Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, King’s Birthday, Te Rā Aro ki a Matariki/Matariki Observance Day, or Labour Day. If Waitangi Day or Anzac Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday the following Monday is not a working day.

Applying for a LIM

To apply for a LIM, fill in the application form below.

For us to give you the correct information you will need to provide:

  • Property address,
  • Legal description,
  • Valuation number,
  • Current owner (if known),
  • Property size (if known); and
  • The fee listed on the application form. This needs to be paid before we can start processing your application.

Paying for your LIM

Internet Banking

You can make a deposit using the following details:

Note: Please don't use your valuation number as a reference, this will mean your payment is auto banked to your rates account.

Online Payment

The Planning Team will email you an invoice with your unique LIM number (e.g L123456). Use this number to make a payment on our online payment portal.

You will need to wait for the following business day for the LIM number to be recognised by our payment system.

Eftpos or cash

You can pay in person at our Customer Service Centre, 161 Queen Street, Masterton.

Cancellation

If you decide that you don't want to proceed with your LIM you can cancel the request by emailing planningadmin@mstn.govt.nz or calling 06 370 6300.

Cancellation within 24 hours - 80% refunded

Cancellation within 48 hours - 60% refunded

Cancellation after 48 hours - No refund

Yes, you can still complete a paper form if you would prefer.

Land Information Memorandum (LIM) Form (PDF, 147KB)

When you have completed the form you can drop it into the Customer Service Centre with the required fee, or email it to planningadmin@mstn.govt.nz with confirmation of your internet banking payment.

A LIM contains:

  • A copy of the Record of Title
  • Any known natural hazards of the land, including potential erosion, avulsion, liquefaction, subsidence, slippage, flooding, fault lines or likely presence of hazardous contaminants/sites
  • Planning information regarding zoning and other District Plan features such as heritage precincts, buildings, designations or outstanding landscapes
  • Resource Consent’s over the property issued by MDC with copies of decisions and those adjoining properties.
  • Services through the property - water pipes, sewerage and storm water drains or drains in common and whether there any connections to neighbouring properties
  • Rates information annual water rates and meters
  • Building Consents over the property issued by MDC
  • Swimming Pool Compliance (if applicable)
  • Licences - food, liquor, on/off licenses, trade waste (if applicable)
  • Any other information Council deems relevant
