New accessible toilet open for business in time for school holidays

Masterton District Council has opened a new accessible toilet in the boatshed, at the end of the Lake of Remembrance in Queen Elizabeth Park.

The toilet is open 8am-5pm in winter, with hours extended to 7am to 7pm in summer.

More toilets in the area are on the way, with the youth hub coming to the skatepark this year also including accessible facilities.

Council Parks and Reserves Advisor Odell Sugrue said: “The new toilet will add convenience to the area in time for the school holidays.”

“It’s in a good spot for users of this part of the park and will no doubt be a relief for some.”
