Businesses bring so much to our community and we’re making it easier to get started with our new Taking Care of Business process.
There are lots of legal requirements when you open a new business. Talking to us early means we can help you figure out what you need and get it moving.

Depending on your type of business you might need to work with multiple teams from health, to building and planning to get your doors open.
By filling in just one application, our business support advisor will create a report that tells you:
- all the consents and licences you need,
- how long these will take to process and,
- they will help you make your applications in the right order to makes things faster and easier.

The process is treated as commercially sensitive to ensure confidentiality.

Why do I need to fill out this form?
It's not compulsory but it's the easiest way to make sure you know exactly what you need to get your doors open. You'll receive a detailed report within 48 hours that tells you the applications you'll need and how long they will take to process. The process is designed to help you plan ahead, prevent any hold ups and comply with laws and regulations.
What if I change my mind?
That's no worries, if you complete an application and then decide not to go ahead with your business idea, just let us know and we can cancel your application. There's no fee for this service.
