Call for members – Retailers’ Business Group
Masterton District Council is now inviting interested businesses in Masterton to join a new Retailers’ Business Group being set up to help address challenges around antisocial behaviour and to help bring back vibrancy and positivity to the Masterton CBD.
Formation of the group follows a meeting held in December to discuss issues facing retailers and Masterton businesses. Attendees were asked what they wanted the CBD to look and feel like and what support could be given by Council.
The group will bring together business owners and the Police to discuss options for addressing specific challenges they are facing around antisocial behaviour.
Cr Stella Lennox said the formation of the group would add to support for retailers and businesses of the CBD.
“The Council is committed to helping address the challenges they are facing, particularly around antisocial behaviour. But we also want to hear their thoughts and ideas on how we can make the CBD better for everyone – we are here to listen and advocate on that.
“I would encourage everyone to consider joining the group to build links with others facing similar challenges and use this platform to get some actions in place.”
Representatives of businesses can email mstnbizz@gmail.com for information or to register their interest.
The next meeting is being held on Wednesday 15 March, 7.30am (morning meeting) at Waiata House, 27 Lincoln Rd, Masterton
