Council working to resolve street light power issues
Masterton District Council is working with power supplier Mercury to address ongoing street light outages that have occurred over the past two weeks.
Outages have been reported across Masterton, with Solway appearing to be most affected - including South Road, South Belt, Harley Street, Betts Avenue, Madden Street, Taranaki Street, Short Street, Laurent Place, and Vivian Street.
Reports have also been received from parts of Chapel Street and the lower end of Cornwall Street.
“We are currently working with our power retailer to resolve these issues,” Roading Services Manager Kaine Jaquiery said.
“This is not an issue with the lights themselves. It appears there are a series of power network issues, and we are liaising with our supplier to investigate and repair these faults within the street light network.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and encourage anyone experiencing outages in their area to please call us on 06 370 6300 and let us know, so we can pass that information on.”
Outages can also easily be reported via the free Antenno App.
