Town hall-style meeting on future of Town Hall
A town-hall style meeting to further outline options for Masterton’s Town Hall building, and library and archive, will be held on Wednesday 24 April at Waiata House.
The options are among the four ‘big decisions’ in Masterton District Council’s Long-Term Plan consultation document, which has already attracted more than 70 submissions.
Chair of the Civic Facility Project Advisory Group, Deputy Mayor Bex Johnson said the meeting was a chance to answer questions on the issue.
“We’ll be focusing on the Town Hall, and library and archive, at the meeting,” she said.
“We recognise this is a big decision for the community and want to allow people an opportunity to have the options presented in more detail if that would be useful,” she said.
“We want people to understand the options and cost implications to encourage as many submissions as possible before the deadline of 10am on Monday 6 May.”
The town hall meeting will run from 5.30-7pm on Wednesday 24 April at Waiata House, 27 Lincoln Road.
Interested people should email events@mstn.govt.nz to indicate they will be attending.
All information is available online on our Long Term Plan Consultation page, with hard copies of consultation documents available at the Council's Customer Service Centre at 161 Queen Street, and Masterton District Library (54 Queen Street).
