Hood Safety Group

The Times-Age asked for details of the Hood Safety Group meeting held yesterday. The following information was provided:

The Safety Group had a wide-ranging discussion regarding ballooning at the aerodrome, including potential risks and possible mitigations.

Masterton District Council, as the operator of Hood Aerodrome, has not changed its position as a result of the meeting, but we have agreed to receive a further risk assessment with potential mitigations from the members of the safety group who are operators on the aerodrome, and to consider this with regards to its current position on balloon use at Hood.
