Solway Reserve Boardwalk Closure

In response to a media update issued about the closure of the Solway Reserve boardwalk for replacement over summer, the Times-Age sought further information.

During the repair of one broken board on the boardwalk, it became apparent that the entire boardwalk needed replacing as it was potentially unsafe. A walker received scratches as a result of the board breaking as they walked over it.

The wider reserve area remains open – but the boardwalk is closed until that particular walking route is upgraded. It is not practical to carry out this work in wet conditions.
