Road Works | Opaki Road

Road Works starting on Monday 16th September for the next few months for Water Main Upgrade Works on Opaki Road from Oxford Street through to Hansells.

Residents of Opaki Road & adjacent Streets will be affected at times during this works.

Over the next few months starting 16th September, Higgins as Contractors to the Masterton District Council will be upgrading the existing 150mm Steel Water main on Opaki Road to a new 250mm PVC Watermain from Oxford Street to Hansells.

During this period, construction plant will be working on the road and at times traffic flows may be affected. Access to individual properties on both sides of the street may be limited as the excavation processes are undertaken. We will endeavor to complete the works as quickly as possible and if needed, provide temporary access during construction.

Trenches excavated will be backfilled, plated or caged at the end of each working day to ensure site safety. Final surface reinstatement will be undertaken as each section of main is completed.

Oxford St, First St, Jordan Tce, Second St, Queen Alexandra St, Third St, Miro St and Cashmere Oaks will all be connected to the new main along the way, Water shutdowns will be completed during the connections. This will be communicated in a further notice to the affected parties prior to the coinciding shut down.
