There is a Heavy Rain Warning in place for the Tararua Ranges. This is effective from 9pm Thursday 24 October to 9pm Friday 25 October. Expect 120 to 150mm of rain. Peak rates of 10 to 20 mm/h expected Friday morning and afternoon. Streams and rivers may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, slips, and difficult driving conditions possible.
There is a Strong Wind Warning in place for the Wairarapa. This is effective from 9am Thursday 24 October to 10am Friday 25 October. Severe gale northwesterlies gusting 120 km/h in exposed places. Damage to trees, powerlines, and unsecured structures possible. Driving may be difficult, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles.
