Henley Lake closed to recreational use due to toxic algae blooms

Henley Lake has been closed to recreational use due to high concentrations of toxic algae. People are advised not to swim or let dogs near the water. An Amber alert/caution is in place for the Ruamahanga River at Kokotau and The Cliffs due to elevated levels of toxic algae.

Heavy Rain Warning | Tararua Ranges

There is a Heavy Rain Warning in place for the Tararua Ranges. This is effective from 11pm Thursday 3rd April to 5pm Friday 4th April. Expect 90 to 120mm of rain. Peak rates of 15 to 20 mm/h.

Streams and rivers may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, slips, and difficult driving conditions possible.
