Are you a GIS/Asset Management expert who thrives on both strategic thinking and hands-on execution? Join our dynamic team at Masterton District Council as a Senior Assets & Information Specialist!
This full-time, permanent position involves managing and enhancing our asset management systems and GIS implementation to ensure accurate data and proactive planning.
We're looking for someone who can develop high-level improvement programs and strategic initiatives while also rolling up their sleeves and getting things done. Non-engineers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply!

He kōrero mōu | About you:
- Advantage but not essential Graduate Engineering Qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Advantage but not essential Tertiary qualification in GIS, Cartography, Geography, Surveying, Information Management, or relevant experience with GIS and SQL databases.
- Understanding of GIS mapping, CAD, or similar software and SQL database systems.
- Experience with Water, Stormwater, and Wastewater Networks Assets in Construction and Maintenance.
- Expertise in Transport Infrastructure Asset Management and RAMM Data Platform.
- Advanced data analysis skills.
- Experience developing Asset Management and Infrastructure Plans.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to undertake research and prepare reports on Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Projects.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software (e.g., Microsoft Suite).
- Strong time management skills.
- Specialist in Asset Management with GIS and Corporate Applications competence.
- Ability to set, monitor, and report on Work Programs and Workflows.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Work Health and Safety Act, Local Government Act).
- Understanding of Water Network Services operations.
- Working knowledge of Risk Management Principles.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
