Henley Lake closed to recreational use due to toxic algae blooms

Henley Lake has been closed to recreational use due to high concentrations of toxic algae. People are advised not to swim or let dogs near the water. An Amber alert/caution is in place for the Ruamahanga River at Kokotau and The Cliffs due to elevated levels of toxic algae.

Water investigation work

Masterton District Council contractors will be carrying out an investigation of the drinking water network in different parts of Masterton from Monday 2 March to Tuesday 11 March, between 9.45pm and 2am.

This involves turning water valves on and off, which could affect water pressure.

The approximate areas affected are:

Kuripuni – overnight Monday, 3 March

Solway – overnight Tuesday, 4 March

Eastside – overnight Wednesday, 5 March

CBD – overnight Thursday, 6 March

Upper Plain – overnight Monday 10 March

Lansdowne – overnight Tuesday 11 March
