Henley Lake closed to recreational use due to toxic algae blooms

Henley Lake has been closed to recreational use due to high concentrations of toxic algae. People are advised not to swim or let dogs near the water. An Amber alert/caution is in place for the Ruamahanga River at Kokotau and The Cliffs due to elevated levels of toxic algae.

Villa Street Carpark Closed | March - May

Greater Wellington Regional Council will install 40 metres of rock revetment along the left bank of the Waipoua River to secure it and prevent erosion. The Villa Street carpark will be closed while this work takes place from early March until the end of May. The main walking track will be diverted onto the Villa Street footpath, you will still be able to access the river loop walk during this time.

Please take care, follow the diversion signs and stay out of the construction area.
