If you plan to sell alcohol on your premises, or let people bring alcohol to drink on the premises while dining, you’ll need to apply for the appropriate licence. This is a requirement of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. You can’t sell alcohol without a licence.

The Wairarapa Local Alcohol Policy - Te Kaupapa Here Waipiro ā-rohe o Wairarapa was adopted in December 2024

Given the nature of the changes to the policy the changes will come into force at different times:

• Policy comes into force (excluding changes to maximum trading hours) - 1 February 2025
• Policy (maximum trading hours) comes into force - 1 April 2025
