Castlepoint is a small township set in a dramatic seaside environment just 64km from Masterton. Castlepoint has a fossil-rich limestone reef, safe sandy beaches and features the stunning 162m high Castle Rock, one of the most spectacular sights along the Wairarapa coast. The land is terraced providing fabulous views from most accommodation including kitchen cabins and park motels. Campsites are varied and beach-front sites offer great sea views.
Motel Units, Cook House, Seaview House and the Garden Cottage are all situated across the road from the beach with great views of the bay and Lighthouse, all located within walking distance of the Holiday Park. Pets are welcome in the offseason after Easter and before Labour weekend.
Some camping is available for those with self-contained vehicles but there are restrictions in place to protect the natural environment so please refer to the freedom camping map (PDF, 428KB) before you consider staying there.
