The Kids Own Playground is one of Masterton’s main attractions for children. It was built by the community over six days as a collaborative project between Masterton District Council, local businesses, and service clubs.
The playground is intended for children of all ages however, the fenced section behind the main turrets is intended for smaller children who need more supervision.
You'll find all of the usual playground equipment like swings and slides as well as accessible equipment that can be used by people in wheelchairs or children in prams.
There is also a large spider's web climbing frame and a giant flying fox that was upgraded in 2020.
