An automatic payment is a regular payment that is set up and controlled by you. You set the date and amount, and the payment is deducted from your bank account. You can cancel an automatic payment at any time.
To avoid paying the full registration fee all at once, you can set up an automatic payment to pay ahead of time for the following year's dog registration.
For example: your dog registration costs $109 - you decide to pay $3.50 a week for 30 weeks ($105), and $4 for one week to make the total $109. You want to have the total paid by 30 June, so you count back 30 weeks to the last week of December and begin your payments (making sure to also set up a one-off payment for $4 for one week to cover the full amount). When registration time comes in June, you have already paid for the year and your new tag will be issued.
To avoid penalties, make sure your registration is paid in full by 31 July. If you are registering a new dog after 31 July you need to pay the registration fee within 15 working days.
Payment Details
If you already pay your rates by automatic payment - please note the different account suffix for dogs. Rates are paid to the 002 account, dog payments are paid to the 000 account.
